Healthy Go Smoothie

(2 servings)

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 banana, cut up into several pieces
  • 1/2 cup milk

Put ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Healthy Go Burger

(6 servings)

  • 1 lb ground turkey, about 90% lean
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded carrots
  • 1/2 finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder

Mix all of the ingredients together to form 6 patties. Cook in a skillet on medium-high to high heat, grill or broil until the centers of the burgers are no longer pink (i.e., cooked to an internal temperature of 165˚). This usually takes about a four minutes on each side. Do not press on the burger while cooking.

Healthy Go Fries

(4 servings)

  • 5 sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
  • olive oil – enough to sprinkle on and coat fries
  • ½ tsp of sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 450˚ F. In a large bowl, toss sweet potatoes with enough oil to coat them lightly. Spread sweet potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet, careful not to overcrowd the sweet potatoes. Sprinkle sweet potatoes with salt and pepper. Roast until the sweet potatoes are tender and golden brown, turning occasionally. (About 20 minutes.) Let cool 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

  • Thank you so very much for coming to our class on Thursday. I learned a lot of new things about my health and everyone's health. Now know soda, candy, and junk food is not good for my health, so I'll cut that habit out. I am sometimes tired. I thought it was because the class is boring, but it's because I don't eat breakfast nor lunch. I'm pretty hungry after school. Sometimes I would get a pizza or a bagel. Sometimes a pack of chips and a soda. Sometimes walk up stairs to the 5th floor gives me a headache, but now I know why!
